Buy it because you “love it” then you can’t lose

Collector Car Investing: For love or for Profit?

Buying the right car, at the right time, for the right amount can be a winner but it’s just a gamble. The collectible car market is a fickle master. Buying for profit is a gamble and should be left for those who can lose.

Yes, the right car bought at the right time can yield returns. But treating the collector car market as a reliable investment strategy?  That’s a gamble best left to those who play with passion, not profit!  Buy it because you love it, buy it because you want it…if it makes money when you sell it, great.  If it doesn’t, then that’s the cost of the experience you had, which is priceless!

Just how fickle is the Collectors Car Market? Below you can read two expert’s opposing views of that same subject.

Two Experts. Two Very Different Views.

"2025 is shaping up to be a smart time for classic and collector car buyers. After several years of rapid price rises, the market is now rebalancing, creating fresh opportunities for enthusiasts and investors alike"………read more..

So… What Should You Do?

  • Sell now if you no longer love the car.
  • Buy now if you’ve found something you’ve always wanted.

For Sale: 1960 Bocar Stiletto – Ultra-Rare American Race Car with Supercharged History ($325,000)

Kelly Dietrick Presents:

For Sale: 1960 Bocar Stiletto – $325,000

See Photos Here

The Bocar Stiletto stands as one of the rarest and most historically significant American race cars ever built. Only three Stilettos were believed to have been produced, and this example is one of just two known survivors—the only one equipped with a supercharged engine.

This particular Stiletto is Bob Carnes’ original factory “team” car, built to take on the legendary Scarabs in American motorsport. Carnes himself campaigned this car in numerous high-profile events including Daytona, Pikes Peak (notably in snowy conditions), and even in drag races. After Carnes, the car passed to racer Bob Spooner—famed for driving the Purple People Eater Corvette—who entered it in events like the 1963 USRRC race at Road America. Remarkably, the car still wears its authentic 1963 USRRC race livery.

Recently, the Stiletto underwent significant safety and performance updates. The suspension, fuel system, and engine were modernized, and a roll cage was added to meet current safety standards. Despite the updates, the car retains its original chassis, suspension, brakes, and transmission.

Following a devastating fire in 1961 that destroyed the original factory and molds, Carnes rebuilt the car using the original components and a new engine fitted with Hilborn fuel injection. It went on to be raced by several owners in SCCA and USRRC events.

This Bocar Stiletto remains the only one of its kind in running condition today. Featuring a unique front-mounted, supercharged, and injected engine paired with a Kurtis-style torsion bar suspension, it stands out as one of the most radical and recognizable American “specials” of the pre-rear-engine era.

As seen in the included DVD footage from the Meister Brau team at Continental Divide, the Stiletto went head-to-head in a match race against Harry Hauer’s Scarab. While the Stiletto clearly had the power advantage, the Scarab’s superior disc brakes gave it the edge over the Stiletto’s drum setup—a testament to how closely matched these two legends were.

Very few cars ever blew the doors off a Scarab.

"Best Electric Car Jack for Emergencies: E-HEELP 5 Ton Kit With Impact Wrench"

Ever had a flat tire?

Chances are, yes. But have you ever had to change one in the least convenient place imaginable—say, the side of a busy road or a muddy parking lot—not your garage?

You might be thinking, “That’s what roadside assistance is for.”

Sure, but have you ever spent hours waiting for help to arrive, only to have your car towed to a shop that charges a premium to fix or replace your tire? And let’s not forget—you still have to find your own ride because the tow truck driver isn’t allowed to give you a lift.

Maybe you’ve tried the DIY route.

That means digging through your trunk to find the factory jack and a set of flimsy tools barely up to the task. Been there, done that—and trust me, it’s no picnic.

So here’s a thought: why not make life easier?

Treat yourself (and your vehicle) to a road-ready electric car jack kit. It’s a game-changer—and one of the most popular models on Amazon makes it even easier to handle unexpected flats quickly and safely.
