Quality In Every Detail .....by Larry FitzGibbon

First time I ever saw a Cord 812 was on a visit to the Heritage Plantation of Sandwich, known to car enthusiast as "The Sandwich Car Museum". I was smitten by both the Museum and the Cord. Ever since I have been visiting car museums, car shows, and reading car magazines.

That Cord was the most beautiful car that I had ever seen.

Cord cars were manufactured by the Auburn Automobile Company of Connersville, Indiana in 1929 and 1932 and again in 1936 and 1937.

The 810 and 812 Models were probably the best known of the Cords. They stunned admirers with their hide-away lights.

The L-29 was the first American car to offer front wheel drive.

That day at the Sandwich Car Museum left a lasting impression on me and has shaped my love for cars. Its a great place to visit with your family.

The November 1935 Saturday Evening Post announced "The First Showing of the New Cord this" and this ran this black and white ad:
