No Car Show………by Larry FitzGibbon

No Car Shows? No Problem—Visit a Car Museum!

When car shows are few and far between—or when the summer weather in Southwest Florida keeps you indoors—why not explore some automotive history instead?

USA Today recently featured an article titled “Hit the Road to See the Ten Best Automotive Museums in the US.” One standout? Coming in at number three is none other than the Revs Institute in Naples, Florida—just about 90 miles from here.

The name alone—Revs Institute, not just “Revs Museum”—should pique the interest of any car enthusiast. Here’s what USA Today had to say:

“The automobiles showcased at the Revs Institute in Naples, Florida, are among the most important and rarest built, almost all meticulously restored to peak operational condition.”

In other words, this isn’t just a museum—it’s a journey through automotive history, with vehicles dating from 1896 to 1995. I’m especially excited to see the legendary Porsche 550.

So next time the heat has you looking for a cool, car-themed escape, hop in the car, crank the A/C, and head to Revs Institute.
