The Oldsmobile 88, also know as the Rocket, is a series of engines produced by Oldsmobile 1949 to 1990. Per Ken, “Oldsmobile had two model classes in 1957, the 88 and the 98. They put the more powerful engine from the larger 98 luxury model into the smaller bodied 88 base model and called it the "Super 88".
