Were you able to make the 53rd Annual Devereaux-Kaiser Car Show? I sure hope so! Pretend you’re there, cuz here it is!

ENJOY!!

My day started by helping jump start the old relic (truck)

Car owners putting last minute makeup details on these beauties

Soon, the show was under way and the
Vendors are open for business

By 9am the cars were motoring in and event workers were busy

Soon the park began to fill up

*****

All the last minute detail work and all the walking about can get tiring. And soon we find people finding some shade and having a sit:

Is Your Classic Car a “Money Pit”?

Watch Those Dollars!!

Classic Car Enthusiast are always wondering about the value of their cars and the value of those they would like to purchase. We are in a car market slow down just now so it a good idea to keep an eye on this.

One entity that is always put itself out front concerning value of collector cars is Hagerty Insurance Company. They are car enthusiast and are big players in the Car Collectors Insurance business.

Recently they posted on their website "5 Rides Posting Solid Gains in a Slow Market"

You will never guess what cars Hagerty writes have the biggest increase of value?

NOT A MONEY PIT!

Many times I am told that a Classic Car is a money pit. How do I respond? That can be true, you have to be very careful when purchasing a Classic. You need to do a lot of research. Your approach should be "I love the car but is it a good investment".

Years ago my wonderful wife surprised and took me on vacation to the foot hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. wife. Surprised me further by renting for the week a 1978 Alpha Romeo Spider. That Classic Italian chariot packs a two liter, over-head cam engine with dual Weber carburetors. Sports car, roof down, Blue Ridge Mountains, and plenty of power.

It was a great vacation but to the point, the car enthusiast that rented it to us had turn his investment into a money making business. He had his dream, 6 awesome classic cars, living in the Blue Ridge Mountain area. Not a money pit!

Years back a car enthusiast living in San Diego, CA owned a 1927 Star Durant 4 door.

For $70 per hour, plus $200 for the first half-hour Haynes Chauffeuring would take you for a tour of  San Diego in Style. This rolling museum cost $70,000 to restore but at those prices the owner would recover his price in no time, and better yet he owed a piece of history. Not a money pit!

So why would anyone buy a Classic Car or Truck?

  • They love Classics Cars and Trucks
  • They did their research well and know that a return on investment is possible
  • They have an entrepreneurial spirit and want to see the a Classic doing what it does best...ride.

Kimal Lumber 21st Annual Car Shows ~ Details

******

The cars show here in Southwest Florida have been experiencing some very agreeable weather. The Kimal Lumber 21st was no exception to that. What a beautiful day filled with gorgeous cars. The participants and the attendees were festive. The music was great, there was plenty places to put a fold out chair in the shade.

I always try to arrive early. There are good reasons for a photographer like myself to get there early. Trying to take photos of individual cars becomes more difficult as the crowd shows up.  Early the owners are normally with the cars so I can get some interesting details from them. The morning sun helps eliminate glare and shadows.

When I first arrive the car owners are busy doing last minute detail work. I love to photo them with their detail sprays and fiber towels in their hands after all I market detail products with my affiliate partners.

*******

As in all the Car Shows and the Cars and Caffeine get togethers I find a car that stands out and choose it as the “Shine of the Show”. This is judged on two factors 1.The quality of the detail job 2. The car’s photogenic qualities......So here’s my choice for the Kimal Lumber 21st:

"Shine of the Show"

********

The car owners have some great stories about their cars:

Stuart Keen and Sunny (his awesome dog) had a map of the cross country trips he had taken in his 1951 MG TD MK2

Cole Keen a sixteen year old young man with his father and help from a friend, put together a basket case 1973 Triumph TR6. Cole was here showing his work, this now pristine car

A day at a Car Show is a great place to get a good walk in

But it can be quite tiring

Go to page two here for the car photos and their owners

1953 Buick Skylark ~ Tammy Allen Collection

Recently at the 35th Annual AACA of Venice Car Show a lovely 1953 Buick Skylark graced the show with its presence.

I happened to catch a glimpse of the car on my drive to Centennial Park, downtown Venice Island. It truly stood out among the moving traffic, a bright shiny red convertible among the white and grey SUV’s. I’m hoping to see it again at the shows and get a photo of it.

There it was up in the east corner of the park and even among the all those gorgeous cars it stood out. Beautifully detailed and standing there like some lovely princess. Many times over the years I have come across cars that just moved me. This though, was a very special car.

At every car show I take photos and report on the events. I also choose to highlight a car based on its detail job and based on its being photogenic. This car was it, the “Shine of the Show”.

In speaking to its owner, Mr. Dennis Esken a very nice gentleman, he told me this car was once part of a collection belong to heiress Tammy Allen.

As a car buff that got my curiosity and therefore I did some research here is what I found:

Tammy Allen is indeed a car collector and this car was once part of her collection. Allen loves collecting cars, especially old-school automobiles. This beautiful car was part of her collection and was sold by auction through Barrett and Jackson.

If you would like to know more about her, about how she came to be involved Car Collection hobby read more https://htowndaily.com/tammy-allen-net-worth-her-car-collection-income-and-more/

Thank you Dennis for sharing her with me and the 12,000 attendees. She is beautiful.

I always used wax products to get a great shine but today I recommend a you use a ceramic coating such as Cerakote Paint Sealant. I purchase all my detail products through eBay
